Finally the kick-off meeting took place at the Trimet Aluminium smelter facility in Voerde. Now the lighthouse project of building the worldwide first superconducting busbar with a nominal current of 200 000 Ampere has begun.

The project team is set up and the organizational structure in place. With the strong scientifc expertise of the KIT and all the industrial partners this project will be disruptive for many energy-intensive companies.
